CPAP/BiPAP Mask Refit/Exchange Policy
Landmark Healthcare adheres to fulfilling the physician’s prescription
as written.
- You will receive one (1) new mask upon the initial set-up of CPAP/BiPAP therapy. This mask is designed to last for a minimum of three (3) months; and, with regular cleaning and reasonable care, will last six (6) months or longer.
- Your insurance company will pay for replacement masks every 3-6 months depending on your particular insurance plan.
- You may private pay for a new mask or additional masks at any time as long as you have a current physician’s prescription.
- There will be some adjustment and acclimation necessary with any mask. Most issues with mask fit have to do with over-tightening. It is not necessary to eliminate all leaks. The main concern is to avoid constant leak into the eyes. Your CPAP/BiPAP machine will compensate for minor leaks in order to maintain your prescribed pressure. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
- If you are having trouble with the fit of a mask that has been specifically prescribed for you, Landmark cannot refit or exchange for a different mask without a new order from the physician for another mask or a mask to ‘fit for comfort’.
- If you are not currently eligible for mask reimbursement per your
insurance provider, Landmark will offer a mask refit per prescription
under the following conditions:
- An appointment must be made within the initial 30 days to come to one of the Landmark Healthcare branch locations to be properly refit.
- The current mask must be brought to the appointment for exchange with a refurbished mask that will be used until you are eligible for reimbursement for a new mask per your insurance plan.
If your mask is damaged due to manufacturer’s defect or shipping and is reported to Landmark within seven (7) days and brought to a Landmark Branch location within fourteen (14) days of receiving the item, a new replacement of the same mask will be provided.
